Her Story
Bred by Cartier Siberians, Cartier Luna Jade was retained not because she represented the finished product, but because she represents the future of one of the breeding goals I have pursued for nearly two decades.
Luna carries forward my long-established solid black bloodline through her dam, Cartier Paris Jade, while introducing valuable imported Russian bloodlines of Nero Iz Odessei. Although type can always be improved, genetics are forever, and preserving valuable bloodlines sometimes means looking beyond the individual cat standing in front of you.
She traces back to Obravo Alena, one of the earliest foundation cats behind my solid black breeding program. Years ago I made the difficult decision to retain a solid black kitten instead of her better-typed sister because I believed preserving the genetics I wanted would matter more over the long term. Luna represents the continuation of that philosophy.
Every generation provides another opportunity to improve type while protecting the traits and diversity that cannot easily be recreated once lost.
Her Legacy
Luna’s legacy is still being written.
She represents the continuation of the solid black Cartier bloodline while adding valuable Russian outcross genetics that strengthen the long-term diversity of the breeding program. My hope is that future generations will combine her genetic strengths with improved Siberian type, expression, and structure, continuing the work that began nearly two decades ago.
Looking Forward
Luna has not yet produced her first litter, but she represents an important investment in the future of my breeding program. My goal is to produce beautiful, correctly typed solid black Siberians while preserving health, temperament, and genetic diversity.
Every breeding decision is made with the next generation in mind. I expect Luna’s greatest contribution will not simply be the kittens she produces, but the generations that follow.
