Her Story
DainahRico Kochana was the first kitten I retained under the Dainah Rico Siberians name, marking the beginning of the traditional Siberian chapter of Dainah Rico Siberians. Her parents, Taimyr Onix Gloria and Wintermist Rylee, were carefully selected to establish the foundation I envisioned for the future of my traditional lines.
From the beginning, Kochana stood out for her striking green eyes, substantial bone, classic Siberian expression, and exceptionally gentle temperament. She embodies the strength, substance, and classic Siberian qualities I hoped to preserve as I began this next chapter.
Looking back over nearly two decades of breeding, I realize I once had many opportunities to preserve traditional Siberian bloodlines. Like many breeders, my focus shifted with the goals of the time, and I didn’t fully appreciate how important it would become to maintain both traditional and Neva Masquerade lines side by side. Kochana represents a return to that vision—a reminder that while some opportunities are gone, it is never too late to begin again.
Her Legacy
Although I originally retained Kochana, I later placed her with my longtime friend, Gail Best of Wintermist Siberians, as part of a planned breeding partnership. Because I had retained her son, Cartier Arman Koral, for Cartier Siberians, I wanted to to preserve flexibility within my breeding program while continuing her line through a carefully planned partnership. Together, we planned to continue Kochana’s line through a carefully selected silver male, with the goal of eventually bringing one of her descendants back into Dainah Rico Siberians.
Life, however, had other plans.
When Gail decided to retire from breeding, Kochana’s journey came full circle. She will be returning home to Dainah Rico Siberians, joined by the very silver male originally selected for their breeding plans. What began as a shared vision between friends has become an unexpected opportunity to continue that vision here.
Looking Forward
Kochana now returns to the program where her story began. Together with her silver partner, she represents an exciting new chapter for Dainah Rico Siberians, allowing me to continue building the traditional bloodlines I originally envisioned while preserving the qualities that first made her so special.
Together with Cartier Arman Koral and future generations yet to come, Kochana’s legacy will continue through both my Cartier Siberians and DainahRico Siberians breeding programs, linking the past of one with the future of the other.
